Consulting & Coaching

The challenges you face are complex, nuanced, and interrelated. So it doesn’t make sense that a one-size-fits-all solution would give you what you need. That’s why so many of the projects I take on are multi-dimensional, drawing on a variety of tools and techniques to help you get where you want to be going. In addition to my facilitation, training, and assessment services, I often add other components as needed – coaching, communications, research, strategy, project management – to get things done.

Whatever your objective, I’ll partner with you to help you reach for it. Coaching blends a variety of techniques in a one-on-one format. You can expect that, as your coach, I will:

  4. -Provide feedback to help you see yourself and your situation more clearly

  5. -Help you set goals and develop strategies for meeting them

  8. Turnkey consulting projects – You know what great potential your group has, and you have a vision for what it could be someday. Working with you, I place the focus on your goals, instead of trying to make them fit some pre-existing solution. (Let’s avoid that “everything-looks-like-a-nail-when-you-only-have-a-hammer” phenomenon, shall we?) At our first meeting, I’ll interview you to get a good picture of your needs and situation so that we can together determine the best way to proceed. And if your needs don’t match up with my areas of expertise, I’ll let you know and will do my best to connect you with a consultant who would be a better fit.

Sample Projects

  1. Career development intervention for a division within a state agency that was experiencing high rates of turnover. I worked with the division to offer various supports and services to help the staff envision a longer-term role for themselves within the organization. From an initial needs assessment to a final program evaluation that highlighted improved levels of employee engagement and commitment, this intervention incorporated training design and delivery, career assessments, and one-on-one coaching around individual development plans that were co-created with each member of the staff.

  2. Collaboration initiative for a public health agency working on a wide variety of issues, all with similar target audiences. The group was seeking to enhance collaboration across their various project areas. After some initial assessment key informant interviews, a social network analysis, and an organizational survey to assess attitudes, skills, and situational factors impacting collaboration I provided the client with a report of key findings and recommendations, and then facilitated a strategic planning session to develop an action plan for enhancing collaboration. Among the interventions the group opted to incorporate were two teambuilding and appreciative inquiry sessions that I designed and facilitated for the division staff.
